Zapping the PRAM” is sufficient to get past this roadblock. The same is true if the Install application simply stalls before completing. If you see this unwelcome message, chances are slim that trying again will lead to success. Click restart to restart your computer and try installing again. Mac OS X Lion couldn’t be installed, because the disk (volume name) is damaged and can’t be repaired. ![]() This folder, created by and used by Time Machine, is fooling the Install app into thinking your startup drive is actually a Time Machine backup. As covered inĪn Apple Support Communities thread, the likely cause is an errant Time Machine-related Backups.backupdb folder at the root level of your drive. The message can appear even though your startup drive is obviously not acting as a Time Machine backup. ![]() This message again means that the Lion installation will not successfully complete. This disk is used for Time Machine backups If this resizing trick fails, you will likely need to reformat the drive. When done, you can restore the partition to its previous size. This disk cannot be used to start up your computerĪpple offers no explanation as to why the installation may balk here, other than to say it can happen in “some situations.” However,Īpple does provide a solution: Restart your Mac, launch Disk Utility and, from the Partition tab, slightly reduce the size of your startup partition (by as little as 128MB).

9/2/2023 0 Comments Elias 7 year old piano prodigy![]() His mother said that he would be active in her womb whenever he heard classical music. But the eight-year-old showed interest in music even before he was born. His delicate, little fingers move quickly across the piano keys to make the most beautiful sound.Įlisha began to receive professional piano training at four years old. His talent is incredible! It is mesmerizing to watch Elisha play, and it is clear that he is very passionate about the music he is playing. ![]() The orchestra behind Elisha starts to play, and soon, he starts playing a beautiful melody on the piano. He pulls up the piano bench very closely to the keys and has to sit improperly on the bench in order to reach the pedals. This post was sponsored by Warner Bros.In this video of one of his performances, Elisha walks out on stage in a little tuxedo as the audience is clapping and cheering for him as he bows and walks to the piano. We certainly wouldn’t want to be up against someone with a 153 point IQ! We feel equally impressed with Ryan’s incredible math skills and sense of humor as we feel bad for Andy’s spur-of-the-moment competition with the child genius. She’d beat us at a Presidential fact quiz any day. This may be one of Ellen’s funniest child guests and it’s fantastic to see her excitement at visiting the Reagan Library. These twins are great dancers for their age and we’re impressed by their ability to coordinate their moves to mirror each other. We’re 98 percent sure those tricks would end in great bodily harm if we tried them. When DeGeneres welcomed the young basketball prodigy on her show, he floored us with his killer basketball handling skills. When we say 12-year-old Jordan McCabe’s got game, we aren’t joking. Watched how nimbly his fingers alight on the piano keys, you’d never guess he also plays rough-and-tumble hockey. Daniel Clarke BouchardĪt 14 years old, Canadian kid Daniel Clarke Bouchard has already played at Carnegie Hall - that’s quite an accomplishment for the young teen, who tells Ellen he’s been playing “officially” since he was 5. All of that, and she can play the violin like a virtuoso. As she gushes to DeGeneres about how she loves how everything shines so “brilliantly” in Los Angeles or how yummy popcorn is, we think we might pass out from the sheer adorableness of it. If 8-year-old music prodigy Alma Deutscher were any cuter or quirkier, we’re not altogether sure we could handle it. Precious doesn’t even come close to describing these two tiny talents, who dance like they’re in fast-forward and who are unbelievably polite. When 8-year-old Kevin Tellez and 6-year-old Beberly Devers appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to display their world-champion salsa dancing skills, they dazzled us (and, it’s safe to say, the world). We particularly appreciate that Atticus favors Martin Van Buren “because of his sideburns.” Who says history is dead? History is alive and thriving in the lives of Rainer and Atticus, aka “the presidential experts.” We can’t actually rattle off as much info on our nation’s fine leaders as these clever little redheads can. DeGeneres invited the duo to recreate the performance, and let’s just say Heaven stole the show. Teeny little Heaven may only be three years old but, well, she’s heaven to watch dance! When her mom - who is a dancer - decided to record a simple video of her daughter practicing with her, she never realized Heaven had so much natural ability. He’s got the skill, sure, but it’s his confidence and positive attitude that has us grinning from ear-to-ear. DeGeneres invited the semi-finalist on India’s Got Talent on her show when she caught wind of his exceptional dance moves, which had gone viral on the internet. 8-year-old Akshat Singh could not tickle us more if he tried. Chatting to DeGeneres beforehand, it became clear he is just the funniest little ball of energy ever. Quite possibly the most memorable guest DeGeneres has ever had on her show, 7-year-old piano prodigy Elias Phoenix knocked everyone’s socks off - and that was before he ever sat down for his amazing performance. These cute cousins so enamored DeGeneres with their rendition of a Nicki Minaj song that she turned them into red carpet correspondents and has made them regular guests. Singing sensations Sophia Grace and Rosie are nearly household names now, but a few years ago they were just getting started on their road to fame - thanks to one of their performances circulating on the internet. Have you ever seen a child play guitar like that? Mind blown. After seeing 7-year-old Brandon Niederauer show off his guitar shredding skills on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, we’re quite convinced this guy could be Jimi Hendrix reincarnated. 9/2/2023 0 Comments Mickey mouse gas maskThe article indicates that, “The exterior of the mask is designed by Walt Disney. It took just thirty days to design and make the first prototype of the mask. Bernard McDermott, a product designer at Sun, worked with Rempel to make plaster impressions of many children’s faces in order to develop a universal composite mold design. With the support of Walt Disney, The Sun Rubber Company engaged local Ohio toy designer Dietrich Rempel to design a mask in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head. Smith, the owner of The Sun Rubber Company, first approached Disney about creating a children’s gas mask using Disney characters. As the aforementioned letter went on to point out, “…the use of “Mickey Mouse” has had a soothing effect on the little children in England. They also designed a gas mask specifically for children which quickly became known as a “Mickey Mouse” gas mask. The issuing of gas masks to every household in the country was a prudent act by the British government. 9/2/2023 0 Comments Disneyland on a budget 2022![]() For a family of five (two adults, one older child, two younger children), which requires a different hotel, the trip comes to $7,841. This includes flights, transportation to and from Disney World, a five-night stay at Pop Century, five day tickets without park hopper, Genie+ at two parks (recommended Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios), and quick service meals, snacks, and two table service meals.įor a family of three (two adults, one younger child), this trip comes out to $5,044. Our baseline Disney World vacation for a family of four (two adults, one child 10+, one child 3-9) costs $6,320 ($316 per person per night) in 2023. Additionally, each of these trips is broken into line items at the end of the respective sections. ![]() Many items in here can be made cheaper (by deal hunting or downgrading), more expensive (by upgrading), or nicer but not much more expensive (by deal hunting and upgrading). ![]() Before you read them though-please, please understand these are jumping off points. While I definitely encourage you to read this entire post, I’ll do you the kindness of summarizing where the three trips come out. When it comes time to roll the post over to 2024 form, we might find that better ticket prices are available at other dates, but for now we’re gearing up for a pricey 2024. This winds up being a nearly 10% increase of 2023, which surprised us. If we assume a reasonable 5% increase for everything else-dining, Lightning Lanes, transportation, and so on-we wind up with these things totaling $3012, for a total trip cost of $6926. Ticket pricing for the dates we use (early June) went up more-nearly 18%-from $2183 to $2570. This brings out baseline hotel costs up from $1268 to $1344. It’s important that you read the rest of this post, however because this section only talks about pricing for our “baseline” trip, a very specific trip in terms of duration, hotel, and party size. Now that Disney has released pricing for 2024, though, we can begin to take a look at 2024 trips. This post will stay mostly in 2023 form until near the end of the year, when we’ll shift focus to 2024. What would be perfect is a Zip-sized Flash. I love the Flash for its extra features and accessories, not for the extra amount of water it can hold. But, if you are camping in a party of less than three, the extra capacity doesn’t make up for the extra space the Flash takes up in a pack. This extra fill capacity makes the Flash a better choice for larger camping parties (3+). The Jetboil Flash is capable of carrying 0.2 more liters than the Zip but weighs 3.5 ounces more. However, anything the Zip can do, the Flash can do better. Ultimately, it is an effective product that serves its purpose. There is nothing that the Zip does poorly. Best for the Social Backpacker: Jetboil Flash.Best for the Lightweight/Solo Backpacker: Jetboil Zip.Flash or Zip: Which Is Best for You?įor those looking for a quick answer to whether you should buy the Flash or the Zip, here you go: The memories I made on that trip convinced me that the added convenience of the JetBoil makes it a worthy replacement to your traditional stove, at least for short expeditions. Since the cooking process went by so quickly, I found myself with much more free time at camp than usual, free time to spend with my friends. I used both Jetboils equally to boil water for everyone and everything - water for MREs, water for tea, water for my backpacking coffee maker, water for the portable shower bag. Yet, over the next four days, I fell in love with the convenience of these stoves. At first, I wasn’t thrilled to abandon my usual MSR Whisperlite.Ĭarrying the Jetboils without other cooking accessories required me to limit my meals to dry and dehydrated goods. To put these products to the test, we planned a four-day backpacking expedition through southwest Colorado. ![]() However, if you’re looking for a more bare-boned, minimalist camp stove with the same bottom-line functionality, the JetBoil Zip may be for you. While the extra features of the Flash may seem gimmicky at first, a field test proved that this cooking device is an overall better and more convenient product than the Zip. 2 min 30 sec claimed, 2 min 12 sec tested |
